VINYASA
Sequences of yoga postures matching movement to breath. Our approach is to guide you through postures that explore the body while incorporating non traditional movements that move the body through full ranges of motion in fun ways. Classes will generally include gently warming the body, varied sun salutations, standing poses, balance poses, seated , prone (laying on front) and supine (laying on back) stretches and movements. Classes will always end with savasana - relaxation. Class times range from 60 to 75 minutes.
Gentle - Suitable for beginners through to experienced practitioners. These classes will generally move at a slow to medium pace, depending on the needs and level of those in the class.
Strong - Suitable for those that have done yoga before and are wanting to explore strength in yoga or who have a regular yoga practice. These classes will generally move at a faster pace, include flows and more strength based movements and holds.
YIN
Slow-paced sequences with some postures that are held for longer periods of time, usually ranging between 1-5 minutes, ending with savasana. Our sequences provide moderate levels of stress to the connective tissues of the body and aim to increase circulation in the joints and improve flexibility. Suitable for beginners through to advanced practitioners, this form of yoga provides an opportunity to slow down and relax, therefore can be challenging as we look to still ourselves in this modern fast paced world. A perfect style for those of us with tight bodies and active minds. Yin classes are at least 60 minutes long.
BEGINNERS WORKSHOPS
For those that have never done yoga before or who are unsure what to expect. These workshops will move at a slower pace with lots of explanations throughout and questions welcome. We will practice poses, give things a go and talk about what we are doing. A great way to be introduced to the fundamentals of yoga asana.
